From 4/9 reorganization of public transport

From Monday 4th September the reorganization of public transport will provide better connections between the city centre and the outskirts.
The Municipality of Milan and Atm have planned an extra 1 million km service to offer citizens even more efficient, punctual and widespread connections in the context of a Metropolitan City.
A remarkable use of resources to boost and promote the use of public transport: so far 57% of citizens in Milan travel by bus, tram and metro.
Weekend frequencies will be resumed for bus and tram lines and metro frequency will be increased. Improvements will result from the route changes and the new sections of tram lines 1, 19 and bus lines 45, 47, 70, 77 and 82; in addition to this, service will be increased on lines 14, 63 and 75. Furthermore, the new bus line 35 will enter operation connecting the Cascina Merlata and Certosa districts with the M1 at Molino Dorino.
The technical experts from both the Milan Municipality and Atm analyzed the areas and lines that needed more coverage to find the best intervention methods.
A mobility offer upgrade going hand in hand with life changes and the requirement to offer an increasingly efficient service in line with the needs of a large European city such as Milan.
