Plan ahead and avoid busy times

Despite the schools' reopening and the easing of Covid restrictions, the reduction in the transport capacity remains fixed by the Government at 50%. As a result, we need your collaboration to decongest passenger traffic, make our network safe, and keep reliable.
Please read below for more information.

Changes of opening hours of service in Milan

The municipality of Milan together with public institutions and companies have signed an agreement, which aims at rearranging travel habits between 7 and 10 am. Please visit this page (in italian) to check the new opening hours of shops, offices, banks and all the other services provided by public and private sectors.

Choose quieter times to travel

We have enhanced our service on the entire network, but the reduction of 50% to our network capacity implies limited access to metro trains and surface vehicles and longer waiting times, especially during rush hours. We recommend you travel after 9.30 am on weekdays.

Use our app to travel by metro

Select any metro station to find the quietest times to travel.

Service enhancement

  • 1200 more rides on the entire network (800 only for students)
  • 100 shuttles connecting more than 30 schools
  • 180 new rides on 18 urban and suburban lines
  • 160 more rides on the main lines throughout the whole day
  • 8 more metro trains during rush hours

Travel safety tips

Please follow these safety measures before traveling: always wear a face covering, follow the signs, use sanitizer points at stations and opt for digital tickets. Find out more at this page.

Thank you for your collaboration.
