Online passes: you no longer need to activate them at the totems
Travel Pass Activation Information
Today, those who top up the pass from the ATM website or app no longer need to go to the totems. You can validate it half an hour after purchase directly at the metro turnstiles and on board ATM or NET means.
Question 1. Does the pass always have to be validated?
Yes. The pass (on the travel card or app) must always be validated at the start of the journey and every time you change means. Not only on the metro, but also on board trams, buses and trolleybuses.
Question 2. My journey begins on a non-ATM or NET lines. What changes?
As always, before travelling on the lines of other operators, the passes must be validated:
- at the readers in the metro, or
- at readers on board all ATM trams, buses and trolleybuses, or
- at readers on board NET lines Z304, Z305, Z09, Z311, Z315, Z317, Z318, Z323 or
- at readers on board lines 201, 220, 222, 230, 328, 423, 424, 431, 433, 528, 542, 560, 561, 566, 965, ChiamaBus and 166
This applies to passes that are purchased online, from the app or from the ATM website, and which are loaded onto physical travel cards. Passes purchased at retailers or automatic ticket machines and those loaded on digital travel cards do not need to be activated: they are ready to travel, even on lines other than ATM or NET lines.
