Making mobility more accessible

The accessibility of the public transport network is crucial for connecting people and communities. This is why it is one of our priorities.

A continuous commitment

We invest in fleet renewalredevelop stations and stops together with the Municipality of Milan, maintain lifts and install new ones. We equip places and vehicles with devices and signage, we dialogue with our customersassociations and their representatives to share needs and projects together.

Accessibility of the public transport network

All stations and trains of the M3, M4 and M5 lines are accessible, as well as all city buses and trolleybuses in our fleet. We are also working to make the M2 metro fully accessible, which is now 91% accessible.

Recent and planned interventions

  • In February 2026, 43 new elevators and 28 stairlifts entered service on the M1 and M2 lines.
  • In the coming months we will make the last 3 M2 stations that are not accessible today: Cascina Antonietta, Cascina Burrona and Villa Pompea.
  • In the coming months we will finish the replacement of the elevators and escalators that have reached the end of their life on the M3

Other new accessibility infrastructure

In the stations of Gorgonzola and Bussero we have introduced LOGES routes for blind and visually impaired people. In Cassina de' Pecchi we have renovated the entrances and built an underpass.

Accessibility of information

A digital service, updated in real time and also accessible to people with visual impairments, allows all passengers to plan their journey by checking the operating status of of metro stations and bus, tram, and trolleybus stops. The service is available on our app and on this page.

Memorandum of understanding with national and international associations

corporate culture that values the uniqueness of all people and respects diversity is a pillar of our Strategic Plan. Some commitments with associations and organizations are part of this vision .

:: Memorandum of understanding with Ledha Milano

Signed with the territorial association belonging to LEDHA-League for the Rights of People with Disabilities, the agreement promotes the right to accessibility and enriches an existing collaboration with two significant points:

  • a series of technical tables for the search for shared solutions to overcome architectural barriers.
  • training courses to improve our employees' relationship with passengers with disabilities or reduced motor, sensory or cognitive abilities.

:: Lecco declaration

We are among the signatories of the Lecco declaration, promoted by the International Union of Public Transport (UITP). The document collects the key principles that must guide organizations in the creation of inclusive and accessible mobility systems.
