M4 works completion: service updates from December 1 

Following the completion of the urban redevelopment works related to the opening of the new M4 line in the areas of Lorenteggio, San Babila, De Amicis, and San Vittore, we will be changing the service on some bus routes starting from December 1. We will also improve the connection between surface, metro, and night bus services. On this page you will find all the information.

    New bus routes 96 and 97: two circle lines connected with metro lines in the Navigli area (cerchia dei Navigli)

    Bus route 96 runs clockwise, while 97 runs counterclockwise. They terminate at Cadorna Station and serve the areas of Navigli, Sforzesco Castle, Policlinico hospital, State University, and Brera district. They meet the metro lines at numerous stations: Cadorna (M1 and M2), Sant’Ambrogio (M2 and M4), De Amicis, Vetra e Santa Sofia (M4), Sforza-Policlinico and Crocetta (M4 and M3), San Babila (M1 and M4), Turati and Montenapoleone (M3), Cairoli (M1), and Lanza (M2).

    84 and 94 merge into the new 84. This line extends to Porta Volta, with more connections to metro lines

    From largo Augusto, the new 84 reaches piazzale Baiamonti. The line offers a direct connection between Corvetto and Porta Volta districts. It meets metro stations at San Babila (M1 and M4), Moscova (M2), and Turati (M3). It passes through piazza Cavour, via Moscova, via Montebello, and Porta Tenaglia.

    New N84. Connected with other lines of the night network

    Buses operate a night service between Porta Volta and largo Augusto every Friday and Saturday night. They meet the other night lines at via Visconti di Modrone, via San Damiano and corso Europa (NM1, NM3, NM4), piazza Cavour and Turati (NM3), piazza Lega Lombarda (NM2, N57), and largo Augusto/via Sforza (N27).

    61, NM1, NM3, and NM4 serve the San Babila area

    From via Visconti di Modrone, bus routes 61 towards Duomo, NM1 towards Molino Dorino, NM3 towards San Donato, and NM4 towards Lorenteggio turn into via Borgogna and stop in Corso Europa after largo Toscanini, a few steps from piazza San Babila. They no longer pass through via Cavallotti.

    Bus route NM2 stops at Sant'Ambrogio, as does the metro

    Even the buses replacing metro line M2 stop at Sant'Ambrogio at night. They no longer pass through piazza Conciliazione and piazzale Aquileia.

    The night NM4 meets NM1 and NM3 at San Babila, and NM2 at Sant'Ambrogio

    From via Visconti di Modrone, buses to Lorenteggio turn in via Borgogna and stop in corso Europa after largo Toscanini, where they meet the night NM1 and NM3 (San Babila). They no longer stop in via Sforza after largo Augusto. From via De Amicis, buses to Lorenteggio turn in via San Vittore and stop at Sant'Ambrogio, where they meet NM2. They no longer pass through via Ariberto and via Olona.

    Bus route 85 terminates at Cadorna

    Service between piazza Bolivar (M4 station) and the city centre (terminus in via Paleocapa, near Cadorna metro station) is guaranteed. The current Cadorna-largo Augusto route is replaced by the new circle lines serving the Cerchia dei Navigli (96 and 97).

    Bus route 50 stops at Sant'Ambrogio, interchange station between M2 and the new M4

    As the buses to Cadorna already do, those to Lorenteggio also run along via Carducci and San Vittore, a step away from the Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio, Museum of Science and Technology, and M4 station. They no longer pass through via Boccaccio and piazza Conciliazione.

    Bus route 94 is replaced by the new 84, 96 and 97

    Bus route 94 is replaced by route 84 between Porta Volta and Piazza Cavour. Between piazza Cavour and Sant'Ambrogio it is replaced by the new circle lines 96 and 97.
