New M2 renewal phase: Cologno branch closes in August 

Infrastructure renewal work on the M2 line continues throughout August, with major maintenance on the viaducts along the Cologno Monzese branch. During the first phase of the works, from 1 to 30 August, trains will not run between Cologno Nord and Cascina Gobba. As an alternative, trains are replaced by buses.

From 31 August, trains service will resume as usual. The following phases of the works will involve changes to local road traffic and will not affect metro service. Updates and information  will be published through the Municipality of Cologno Monzese.

From Saturday 1 to Sunday 30 August, M2 trains are replaced by BM2 buses between Cascina Gobba and Cologno Nord

The following stations are closed:

• Cologno Nord
• Cologno Centro
• Cologno Sud

Trains will run normally between Milano, Cascina Gobba and Gessate.

• From Cascina Gobba: first departure at 5:44 am; last departure at 1:00am
• From Cologno Nord: first departure at 5:21 am; last departure at 12:38 am
• Frequency: every 4 minutes from 7 to 9:30 am and from 4:30 to 7 pm; every 10/11 minutes from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm; every 6 minutes from 7 pm to 9 pm

SATURDAY

• From Cascina Gobba: first departure at 5:44 am; last departure at 1:00 am
• From Cologno Nord: first departure at 5:22 am; last departure at 12:39 am
• Frequency: every 7 minutes from 7 to 9 am and from 5 to 8 pm; every 10/11 minutes from 9 am to 5 pm

SUNDAYS AND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS

• From Cascina Gobba: first departure at 5:53 am; last departure at 1:00 am
• From Cologno Nord: first departure at 5:27 am; last departure at 12:39 am
• Frequency: every 10/11 minutes from 6:30 am to midnight

From 10 to 21 August, buses follow the Saturday timetable also from Monday to Friday.

Cologno Nord pedestrian overpass

During the line closure, the pedestrian overpass at Cologno Nord station will remain open to reach the car park. Elevators will also be in normal service.
