Towed vehicles 

At the request of the Local Police we remove with the tow truck

  • vehicles that are in a parking ban
  • vehicles subject to criminal seizure
  • vehicles of stealthy origin

The removal, seizure or detention of vehicles are ordered by the agents of the Local Police of the Municipality of Milan. ATM manages the docking operations and those of transport, custody and collection in the warehouse.

The fares applied to the costs of removal, storage and collection of vehicles

When a vehicle 

  • it is removed from the tow truck and moved nearby (removal in place)
  • is taken to a storage room and kept in custody
  • or when the tow truck is also only called or sent to the scene (right to call)

The owner of the vehicle must pay the costs of intervention (calling, or removal, or storage in storage) and the fine relating to the violation of the Highway Code

Pay the costs of calling the tow truck and moving the vehicle

These costs must be paid to ATM in one of these ways:  

  • bank transfer made out to ATM S.p.A. with IBAN IT36T0306903390109900107126. In the details remember to enter the license plate and the RDR number indicated in the letter you received at home
  • at the local public transport ATM Point  located inside the Area B and C Infopoint of the Duomo station. Monday to Friday from 9 am to 12:30 pm and from 1:30 pm to 4 pm.

Vehicles that ended up in storage

Removed vehicles are kept in our depots. Below you will find the addresses and opening timetables.

  • Messina depot – via Messina. The return of vehicles is available by appointment from Monday to Sunday (including holidays), from 07.00 to 20.00, by contacting the number: 3346295660.
  • Forlanini depot – via Gatto. Open daily, 24 hours a day
  • Quarto Oggiaro depot – via Amoretti. Open daily, 24 hours a day
  • Molinetto di Lorenteggio depot – via Molinetto di Lorenteggio. Open 24 hours a day 
  • Palizzi depot (only for bicycles and motorcycles) – via Mario del Monaco (at the Esselunga). Open from Monday to Saturday, from 8.00 to 20.00. Closed on Sundays and public holidays.

How to pick up a vehicle from the depot and pay the storage costs

Call the Local Police number 02 02 08 to find out in which depot the vehicle is located

  1. Go to the depot with these documents
    1. Valid ID and photograph
    2. Vehicle registration document
    3. Valid insurance
    4. Any authorization to withdraw issued by the Local Police

Storage costs are paid directly at the depot where the vehicle was taken. To withdraw it, you must also pay the total amount due by credit or debit card. You cannot pay by cheque or bank transfer.  

How to pay fines

Regulatory references of forced removal services and the fares applied

The removal and custody service is granted to ATM by the Municipality of Milan pursuant to the New Highway Code (Legislative Decree 285/92) and the Implementing Regulation (Presidential Decree 495/92) throughout the municipal area. Vehicles that have had accidents, those abandoned and those subject to seizure and administrative detention are not removed or stored. The billing of the service fees is electronic. 22% VAT is applied to fares for removal and custody services. The fares for the collection of vehicles are set by different supervisory bodies: 
- Municipal Council resolution no. 942 of 31/03/2010 and subsequent amendments and adjustments to ISTAT, if the vehicle is removed due to no parking 
- Ministerial Decree 265 of 02/09/2006, if the vehicle is subject to criminal  seizure
